Guess what?

So today I added some collages and a Hong Kong dragon and a dancing duck. I decided to look up "ChinaCho" In the search bar.
Guess what? First picture that pops up is this: Haloconut.deviantart.com/art/e…

Nice one, Annalisa. Now I'll be an "Epic Face" celebrity. D:<
I'll admit it, though. That is kind of funny.

Hetalia; Hong Kong's View
By Nina Chen
There are some things that are worth it, and some that are not. Like being stuck at home with nothing to do isn't, but being a "place" is. So this month, at home I didn't get to go and do anything that was "worth it." But this summer I was.

Asia kissed me quickly on the cheek. I blushed and turned away while she did the same to Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Taipei. "Now go!" China half shouted, half smiled. "Do you want to be late, aru?" We rushed on to the bus.
As always, Vietnam is always in a Vietnamese national outfit for women, wields a long paddle, wears a conical leaf hat and has her hair put back in a long ponytail. My other big sister, Taiwan, is a teenage girl who wears a bright pink colored qipao with gold trim and long, flowing sleeves, and a long white skirt. Her hair is long and brown, with a wild curly strand sticking out on the right side of her head. She wears pink flowers in her hair. My big brother, Korea has short black hair, with a flyaway curl on the right side of his head. The curl has a face in the middle, to represent his "Korean spirit". He dresses in a white and navy blue hanbok with long oversized sleeves and his jeogori seems to be in two pieces rather than one. My little brother, Taipei, was wearing a polo and jeans. his glasses seemed to be falling of.
Incase you're wondering, we weren't of to school. We were going to Hetalia summer camp. I'm Hong Kong. I have choppy dark brown hair that comes down to my jaw and lighter brown eyes. I always wear a burgundy duangua with black trim and oversized sleeves, and dark brown trousers. My eyebrows are noticeably thicker than the other Asians. I don't talk a lot, and I'd like to keep it this way. I'm more like my sister, Vietnam, and most unlike Korea and Taiwan, both very nice and talkative. Now I'm not saying I'm mean or anything, it's just that I don't talk. I'm good at keeping secrets (but no one tells me any) and I don't attack unless absolutely necessary. I'm just like that.

Asia. She wasn't a stepmom or anything. She was more of China's.... girlfriend, but China never admitted it, because of an "incident" that happened ten years ago. I liked her a lot, and so did Korea. She was-she IS Taiwan's best friend. Asia wasn't aloud to come because she wasn't a country. They said she wasn't "special" besides the fact that she was really smart.

Taiwan was jabbering on how excited she was to see Japan again, whom she wasn't aloud to see due to China's rules. China and Japan really don't like each other, but I think Japan's kind of cool. Vietnam just nodded and smiled, but I knew she could relate. Korea was talking about how he should be the oldest, not China. I just stared out the window. Then, when the bus screeched to a stop, I saw a girl. She had dark chocolate colored hair that was in a thick braid around her shoulder and milk chocolate colored eyes. Wearing a blue short sleeved sailor outfit, you wouldn't think she was much. Just a new country or someone.
But she was important.
I still didn't know why.

Later on the bus, in my pocket, I found a picture that Asia kept. She liked having pictures of each and everyone of us in her photo albums. It was a picture of me. I looked really, really, bored and was putting the peace sign up sideways in front of my face. It was when I was really little, like maybe eleven or ten.
Asia, Vietnam, and Taiwan claimed that I looked so cute doing that that they had to get a picture. Asia was being so sweet, I let them. I still remember them giggling and snapping photos of me putting those peace signs. And to tell the truth, that was pretty stupid of me to let them.
Because after I had a good look at it, I tried to shove it back into my pocket. But Taiwan popped up, took one look at the photo, and said, "Awww... You were so cute!" And of course, every girl on the bus HAD to hear her. And after that, all the girls came up and try to grab that photo of me doing those peace signs. So it was very scary. I had to shove the photo into my pocket, and pray that none of the girls would actually get it. Because if they did, They would squeal with delight and show ALL their friends and every time I passed them, they would make that little peace sign. That thought was so embarrassing, I hit myself in the head.
"Are you OK?" Someone asked. I looked up, a little surprised. It was the girl at the bus stop. I nodded, and she smiled. "My name's Jinan. You're Hong Kong, correct?" I nodded again. She talked again. "I'm also an Asian country. I guess we'll be in the same group!" I was staring up at her. Most girls had tried to talk to me, but in a flirty way. She wasn't trying to get my attention, she just did. "Well, I'll see you around." She walked of. Suddenly, Jinan turned around and ran back. "Silly me! I almost forgot to give you this." She handed me the photo, and ran of to catch up with Vietnam.

"Ohhh...." Korea smiled. "Someone's got a cruuuushhh." I turned around and hit him on the top of his little head.

At lunch, all the boys sat at one table, while all the girls sat at another. It wasn't a rule, it's just how things work. I was silent through lunchtime, eating my food like always. Then, America put a hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at him. "Are you ok, dude?" He asked. "Yeah." I said softly. "No, he's not." Korea laughed. "Hong Kong, most calm, quiet, boy in the world, has a crush!" I felt my cheeks grow warm. "I do not! You're just jealous that.. that..." Come to think of it, Korea had nothing to be embarrassed of. He was just him.
Embarrassed of my own outburst, I just stared at my food. Korea continued talking. "On the bus he found this picture in his pocket, and did you see how many girls went after it?" All the guys nodded. "You'd think they were starving and that was pasta." North Italy said. He LOVED pasta. Japan looked at me. "I'm not trying to be nosy, but who is it?" Before I could say anything, Russia said, "Is it that new girl? Jinan?" Korea nodded. "That's her. She talked to Hong Kong, and he was amazed." I wanted to protest, but what could I say? And besides, it wasn't worth it.
We all turned to look at Jinan at the girls table. She was giggling about something. Then, Hungary saw us, and pointed at us. All the girls turned, and waved. We turned around. I picked at my food again. "See?" Korea announced. "I told you. He got embarrassed." I took a bite of the mashed cauliflower. My cheeks were getting warmer by the minute. "I'm telling you." I grumbled through the cauliflower. "I don't have a crush on anyone. It's Korea who has a crush on her." But at that point, no one planned to listen to me. "The world's gonna know, Hong Kong." Korea sang. "Hey EVERYONE!!! HONG KONG–" I covered his mouth with my hand, found a napkin, and shoved it in his mouth.
Japan got up, and walked over to Taiwan. He offered her a hand. She took it, and they walked outside. When they passed us, Japan said, "We're gonna take a quick walk. I'll see you later." Korea looked at me, took the napkin out of his mouth, then said, "Why won't you just admit it? I can tell, we all can tell, soon the world will be able to tell–go ask Jinan to take a walk with you or something." I slapped him across the face. "If I ask her to take a walk with me, will you shut up about all this nonsense?" Korea laughed. "Sure. The "walk" will just prove you like her."

"So, um, when did you become a country?" I asked Jinan as we walked through the woods. "Oh, just three weeks ago. How long have you been a country?" She replied, stepping over a log. "I've been one all my life." I said, thinking about how many rumors Korea was spreading at this very moment. "Cool. " Jinan said uncertainly. We walked in silence. It wasn't much. "So, er, is it... fun?" She asked. "It's... interesting." I answered softly. She tripped, then grabbed my hand. That surprised me. Once she rebalanced herself, she immediately let go. "Sorry," Jinan murmured. She was blushing.  "Um..." I said. Sure, I've taken at least hundreds of walks. With Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, China, Asia... Why was I so tense? I swear, I didn't have a crush on her. I was thinking so much that I ran into a tree and fell over.

"Oh! Are you ok?" Jinan asked, helping me up. "Look at that, your forehead is bleeding." She handed me a pink handkerchief. I groaned and put it on my forehead. Sure enough, It was bleeding like crazy. "You hit the tree hard. What were you thinking about?" Jinan asked as she helped me back to the camp. I surely couldn't tell her what I really WAS thinking– so I told her, "I don't know" and she helped me back to the lunch room.

"Wow.... What did you do?" Korea asked as I rinsed my forehead with cold water. "I ran into a tree." I grumbled. Korea laughed. "You'er so clutzy when you've got a crush." I tried protesting, but he kept talking.
"I called China and told him EVERYTHING." My head jerked up and stared at him. "You did not." I replied, panicking.
"Actually, I did. He told me to tell you to not seem so embarrassed."  Groaning, I fell on the floor and curled up. "I am so going to die." I didn't want China to know any rumors. "You know if one of the girls were here they'd say you look really cute?" Korea said, nodding. I groaned again and buried my face deeper into my arms. I didn't need anymore comments like that. Every girl thought I was cute. I didn't want to be cute. I wanted to be a normal country, that was NOT cute. Then, I heard Vietnam and Taiwan burst in.

"What's wrong?" Taiwan asked, all panicky. Korea shrugged. "He bumped his head and decided he wasn't going to be cute anymore." Vietnam laughed. "Oh, Hong Kong. You're just cute. It's going to stay like that for a while. You're just cute Hong Kong, we can't change that." She sat down next to me and hugged me gently. "Alright." I said. "What about this photo? No matter what face I make, I'm always "cute"."
I pulled out a picture of me grumpy. I was standing in front of our map and on right was written Hong Kong. I seemed about eight years old, and was grumpy. And they said I still looked cute. "But being cute is a good thing," Taiwan replied quickly. "Yeah." I grumped. "But I don't want to be cute today. Give me a paper bag." Korea randomly handed me a paper bag. I put it on my head. "There." I said, muffled. "I am no longer cute." I got up, turned around, and ran into a wall. "Ouch." Korea said. Taiwan took the paper bag of my head and helped me up. "You need to get used to being cute." She said. I didn't answer. I went right back outside.

"Stupid cuteness." I mumbled as I threw a rock into the river. It didn't seem much to be annoyed of, but if girls were trampling you for a photo of you, flirting with you every possible moment, passing notes to you to see if you would answer– you'd be sick of it, too. Korea was better at being cute. I was better at scowling. Throwing another rock, I realized my first rock hit something. "Ouch!" I heard someone yelp. "Sorry!" I shouted back. Then I heard someone fall. I rushed towards the voice.
"Hello?" I called out. I heard someone moan. "Hello?" I was panicking. A shriek. This person could have died. But by a rock? Unlikely. I suddenly stopped running. There she was. The dead person.
It was Jinan.

So I didn't actually kill her, but she was frozen, her eyes wide. Her cheek was bleeding, and she seemed limp and weak. "No. No no no no no. I did not do this." I murmured franticly as I felt her forehead. It was ice cold. Her skin was not pale yet, but very close. I picked her up like she was a sack of flour, and stood up. I turned around, and started walking. Jinan's eyes suddenly closed. I didn't say anything, but was trying to think about how I was going to explain this to the others. Gently, I put her down and checked for a pulse. "Oh, dear." I heard someone say. I turned around. My siblings were behind me. Vietnam was holding on to Taiwan and Korea, who looked shocked. Taipei had his hands on his mouth. Japan was white. Vietnam looked stern and afraid. "You owe us an explanation." She said.

"I didn't do this to her, I swear!" I argued as Vietnam put a cold towel on Jinan's forehead. We were in our tent, the Asian tent. "I can't believe it..." Japan said, hugging a crying Taiwan. "Why were you upset in the first place?" Korea demanded. "Being "cute" is not an insult. Geez."
Taipei glared at me. "Whatever. Either way, we know it's you, so how did this happen?" I glared back at him. "I swear! I didn't do it! How can you prove that I made it happen?"
We flung insults back at each other until Vietnam turned around, her black ponytail like a whip. "I have no idea how this happened, or why, but how do we explain this to Director Germany? You know how much danger we are in." The tent fell silent. She was right. We didn't exactly have a way to explain this to anyone. And if Germany found out we had a half-dead person, he would get US killed. I walked over to Jinan, then sat next to her. I held her hand and began to stroke it. Then, I realized there was something in her hand. Crumpled paper. I un-crumpled it and began reading out loud what was on it.

Dear Asia Family,
If you found this, I thank you very, very much. I am writing this in a hurry, because my ankle is broken, and I'm being and chased. I shall explain.
After Hong Kong got hurt, I ran outside to a small secret waterfall of mine. I sat down on a stump, and began thinking. Soon, some things came up to me and claimed that if I didn't join them and tell them where our camp was, they would find out and, well, kill you. I asked them why, and they said they would take over earth and turn everyone into slaves. So thats when I started to run and write this letter.
They shouted that I would never make it to the high mountains where the cherry blossoms were on time. I was going to jump into the water and swim back when I got hit by a rock and fell over. The rock was heavy and large, so it kept me on the ground. I turned, and the evil person landed on me. I need to be done writing this quickly because he's making me look at his eyes. Go to the cherry blossom mountain or something like that within eight days. Bye. Good luck.
Love, Jinan

I gasped. That's what happened to her. Even if the rock didn't hurt her to bad, it was still my fault that she is like this. Taiwan had stopped crying and was thinking. "Eight days?" She thought out loud. "The high mountains are over there." She pointed behind her. "If we run for ten hours every day, we can make it within seven days." Taipei coughed. "I don't think we can make it by running." Korea nodded. "We should get a car or something." Japan shook his head.
"If we did, then we would need to ask someone for the car first. Then we would need to explain. If we stole it, then they would find out and hunt us down. And we'd still need to explain. Our safest bet is Taiwan's way. If we run for a whole day straight every other day, and walk those other days, then we can make it within at least... umm, within four or five days." Vietnam was worried. "That might be our safest bet, but the teachers will find out because we're gone and find us. Then we would need to explain." She looked at me. "Hong Kong? Do you have an idea?"
I had remained silent, still knowing it was my fault. "Earth to Hong Kong?" Korea asked, poking my shoulder. "Yeah, I heard her." I replied unhappily. "I don't have an idea." Taipei let out a sigh. "You threw the rock that made her fall, didn't you?" I nodded. No one spoke for the next thirty seconds, and then Taiwan sneezed. "Aroo!" I looked at Taipei and I saw him glance at Korea. I saw little energy efficient lightbulbs pop over their heads. Vietnam saw them, too. "What is it?" She asked excitedly. "Duh!" Taipei exclaimed. "We call China!" Korea finished.

It took about ten seconds to call China, tell him everything, get up, out, and start running up that mountain. Or five. It was hard to count with all that excitement. While running up the mountain, I decided on seven seconds. Korea and Taipei had remembered China because he ends all his sentences with "aru." Taiwan's sneeze was "aroo" instead of "achoo." So I guess it made sense. If you wanted to sit, repeat Taiwan's sneeze several times, and make an answer.

After one hour, I was pretty tired. We had to do this nine more hours. Five Hundred Forty minutes. Thirty Two thousand, four hundred seconds. Korea wasn't tired. He was a monkey, swinging from tree to tree. Taiwan was talking to Japan, and Taipei was more like... spinning. He spun forward. Vietnam walked next to me. She put her hand on my shoulder.

"Do you remember this photo?" Vietnam asked sweetly. She showed me a photo. I was five years old and I was sucking my thumb. I was looking at the camera with big, brown, eyes. Looking away, I said, "Yes. I remember that."  Vietnam smiled. "Do you remember... when you had a taste of that blue sauce? It was supposed to be a new dessert. Taiwan had put salt instead of sugar, and pepper instead of cinnamon. So when you tasted it, you spit it out on Korea and dumped it all over China. Remember?" I had to smile. I remembered. The blue sauce tasted marshmallows and salt water and mayonnaise. And lots of pepper. "And then I threw up in you're lap. You were the one feeding me." I finished. Vietnam laughed. "I remember. For two years, I refused to feed you." That was the truth.
I was actually the second youngest out of all my siblings. It went China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Me, and Taipei. Actually, I was older then Taiwan, but I liked being the second youngest. I'm used to it.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked. Vietnam smiled and shrugged. "That's why you hate it when things have to much pepper. You always end up spraying it all over someone." I nodded.
"You guys also dressed me up a lot." I said, remembering the time they stuck me in a maid outfit. Vietnam laughed. "You were at least seventeen when we stuck you in the maid outfit." I nodded, blushing that I had been fooled that they had something "cool" to give me. They gave me an ice cube for letting them put a frilly pink maid outfit on me. I did put it on, but they said nothing about taking pictures. I managed to rip up the photos, but Vietnam handed me a NEW picture of the maid outfit. I was going to rip it up when I heard, "Don't bother ripping it up." Vietnam smiled. "I've got plenty more."

Three days had passed. I was really tired, and sick of apples. Very sick of apples. It was also hard to keep warm with such a small fire and thin clothes. "I-I-I don't l-like th-this weather." Korea chattered that night. Taiwan sneezed. "Aroo!"  Taipei jerked his head back. "Stop sneezing like that!" He shivered. Vietnam had gone to find more wood. I shivered. "S-s-so...." I tried to talk, but it was to cold. "Some summer." I managed to say. Japan nodded. "It is rather cold for summer." He mused. "Then why aren't you shivering?" Korea asked testily. "Because I refuse to be cold." Japan replied, and that was the end of that conversation.
Vietnam came back to find everyone except me sleeping. "You're still awake?" she asked softly. I nodded. "Yeah. I can't sleep." Vietnam smiled. "Come here." I walked over to her and sat down. She showed me a small photo album. "Asia gave this to me." I nodded, slumping forwards a little. She flipped it open to a page. It was pictures of me. "I kept this because you were so cute. You looked evil around this age, though."
The pictures were me when I was little. There were labels. The first photo read "6~8". I was small and had big, brown, eyes. I was smiling. My sleeves made my hands disappear. The next one, I was wearing a brown vest with a blue tie and white polo underneath. It read "10~12". I was looking of to the side. Only a small smile, but not as bad. The next one, I was wearing a blue suit and seemed mad about something. No smile. It read "13~15". Last one was me in the clothes I'm wearing now. I looked evil. It read "16~18".
I let my head fall in Vietnam's lap. It's been twelve years since I did that. Vietnam seemed surprised at first, but smiled and stroked my head. "Sweet dreams" She whispered, and I fell asleep.

The next morning was dead serious. We got up, ate three apples each, and ran. Well, Korea was climbing trees, but you know what I mean.
After ten hours and a half, Korea fell out of a tree, and started sleeping. We all decided to all go to sleep. I lay down and tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't. I wished that I was six years old again. I had such an easy time falling asleep. But I was a eighteen year old country on a mission to save another country that may have already died. Eighteen years old. I thought about being stuck with England for five years, and then getting these humungous eyebrows by a curse. I gingerly poked my eyebrows. They felt like caterpillars on my face. Shivering in fear, I looked at Taiwan. When I was fourteen, there were thousands of false photos of us together. I sighed, thinking about all the rumors you have to go through as a country. I thought about China. He's been mistaken for a girl forever. I mean, it was possible that he was a girl, but–never mind. But after thinking about China, I thought about Asia, and I thought about Jinan. I sinking feeling was in my heart. Quietly, I got up, and kept going up the mountain. I wouldn't go that far ahead. Besides, they would always catch up. Right?
Wrong.

I woke up to birds singing. I had hiked for three hours. Yawning, I got up, and looked around. Beautiful cherry blossoms were falling, and birds were singing.  I took a deep breath, and choked on a falling cherry blossom. Calm mornings. I love them.

On my way up the mountain, I found some plums. I carried a few dozen, and was eating them as I ran. I put a dozen in my pocket. Suddenly, I felt something grip on to my arm. It was dry and scratchy... another one grabbed on to my leg. I looked at it. It was a vine. A green, jungle vine was wrapping itself around me and was taking me into the forest.
Screaming, I fought against it. Or tried to. More and more kept on coming and soon, I gave up.
I had lost.
Or so I thought.

"You are... him?" The booming voice asked disappointedly. I was tied upside down over a pool of bubbling lava with killer sharks in there-don't ask me how they survived. The walls were concrete and cement–and metal. "The one I wanted to meet?" The voice continued. "I am truly disappointed. Humph." I struggled against the ropes. "I don't care wether you're disappointed or not– how do I save her?" "Hmmm... Whom is it you want to save?" I glared at no one. "I want to save Jinan."
The voice laughed. "You can't save her now. If you weren't stupid, you would have read the back. I couldn't get it off, but AFTER your little princess was frozen, I put the message in her hand." I paused. "What?"
"The back of the message said, "I'm OK." I knew you wanted to save her, so viola! You fell for my trap."
Coughing, I thought about it. Jinan had closed her eyes. She had opened them. All that happened to her was that she was frozen. DUH!!!

"Why do you want me?"  I asked, swallowing down my fear.
"I want to know what makes you so special to Jinan."
"I don't know." I replied, stubbornly. If it was about me being cute I was going to bite Jinan's head of her shoulders.
"Oh, please." The voice said, angrily. "She's met a lot of people. I want to figure out what makes YOU so special."
I was getting angry. "I don't care what makes me so special." I shouted. "I don't care about Jinan. I don't care about her one bit. She's just like every other stubborn girl on this planet. She is too normal. Nothing's interesting about her. She's a jerk. I don't care what she thinks of me. But if you really HAVE to know, maybe it's because she thinks I'm cute, like every other girl in, I don't know, the WORLD. I don't need Jinan. I hate everything about her."
Another reason why being cute was bad. It made me open my mouth.
"Fine then. Ta-ta." And that was it. The ropes lowered, and I was being dropped into the pool of lava and sharks. "Wait!" I screamed. "I'll tell you why!"
He snickered. "I'm sorry, Hansom Boy, it's to late now. I'll tell Jinan what you said. No, I don't need to. She heard every word of it."
I looked around. I didn't see anyone, but I heard Jinan shouting, "Hong Kong! Hong Kong!!!" And I remember darkness.

Hurt. Worry. Fear. Regret. I have never felt all those things at once. Until today.
I regretted saying those words to the voice, and I regret having Jinan hear them. I worried about my siblings. I feared dying and was hurt that I ever thought Jinan liked me for the reason I said. I repeated those words in my head several times before another voice mixed in.
"I regret every word I told that person. I worried about you and the others. I feared that you would end up dying, and was hurt that Hong Kong thought that that was the reason I cared about him." Those words sounded like my words, but a little different. I opened my eyes. I was using someones lap as a pillow. I turned to the person whom my head was on, and saw a girl with milk chocolate eyes and dark chocolate hair in a thick braid around her shoulder. She seemed surprised to seemed awake, and also a little hurt. "Good Morning, Hong Kong. I'm glad you're ok." She said, her voice was only a little hurt, but less then I saw in her eyes.
"Jinan..." I said, thinking about how much I wanted to save her, and how I thought she was so different, and how I told the man what I "really" felt about her.
Jinan looked away quickly. I wanted to hug her and tell her how relieved I was to see her alive, but seeing how would have felt if I heard those words, I would feel hurt, too.
"I'll try to find the others." Jinan said as she got up. She darted into the woods.
As soon as she was gone, I felt tears go down my cheeks. No stupid, I thought to myself. Don't cry. You are Hong Kong. You are brave and strong. Don't cry, stupid! Are you even listening? This is NOT going to be worth it.   I was eighteen going-on Nineteen. I didn't need to cry. But I cried anyways.
Vietnam saw me crying, and she walked over and hugged me. It felt awkward because I was taller then her, but she didn't care. "Shh, shh." She said, even though I didn't howl or make any noises. Tears just ran down my cheeks. "Why did I say those words?" I asked her.
" Because you had to." Vietnam replied. "If you hadn't, he'd kill Jinan."
I gripped onto Vietnam. "So you're saying I'm an idiot who insults people I care about to get out of situations."
"No, no. I'm saying you're smart. And you do things you may regret, knowing that it will help in the future."
She pat my back a little, then said, "I know you have you're regrets, but you did the right thing. Jinan's not upset, she was just worried."
I nodded, then let go. Vietnam was a good adviser. She ought to write in the newspaper someday.
Jinan came back. "I couldn't find them." She said, disappointed. Vietnam shrugged. "Thats fine. I'll get some water, there's a river down there." She got up and walked away. Jinan sat down next to me.
"So, um, Jinan?" I asked nervously. She looked at me. "Yes?" I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry about what I said at the place with the creepy person. I didn't actually mean what I said about you. You're a great person. I'm sorry."
Jinan didn't answer for a bit. Instead, she said, "You've changed."
That kind of surprised me. "I have?" She nodded. "You used to be quiet. Now you're so.... talkative." I looked away. "Is that bad?" Jinan shook her head. "Of course not... I-I just..." She couldn't get the words out of her throat.
"You know Korea? Of course you do." I began quickly. "He said... he said..."
"He said you liked me, but you don't. I know. He made you take that walk with me." Jinan finished blandly.
"No. Thats not it. I mean, he didn't MAKE me take a walk with you. I wanted to do that. And I do like you."
Jinan seemed surprised by this. I was surprised, too. Did I really just say that? If I did, I didn't take anything back.
Jinan narrowed her eyes. "You've gotten gushy. But that was really sweet. Thank you."
I shrugged. "What now?"
Vietnam came back and dumped water on my head.
It was really cold.

"So we lost Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Taipei?" I asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, Hong Kong. It wasn't our fault!" Vietnam replied as we were going up the mountain. "You were gone, so we split into groups trying to find you. Japan and Taiwan, and Korea and Taipei!"
"Well, I was OK. Maybe was just a little walk!"
"Well, maybe if you had left a message or something, this wouldn't happen!"
I never heard Vietnam's voice shout, and she never saw me loose my temper and yell. My cheeks felt a little warm, but I didn't care.
"I don't care! Maybe if you weren't so–"
"Hong Kong, please." Jinan put her hand on my shoulder. I almost forgot that she was there. "Don't yell now, we need to think of away to find the others." I stopped shouting, and so did Vietnam.
I glared at the floor, but I really wanted to glare at Vietnam. They should've went up the mountain instead of doing something dumb like splitting up. "How do you guys plan to find them?" Jinan asked, softly. I knew she was worried about us and didn't want to push it.
"I don't know." I responded. "Maybe they'll just turn up."
"You talk about them like they're a toy." Vietnam said.
"So maybe I do. But I still care about them."
We walked the other nine hours in silence.

That night I realized I now feared a lot of things. What scared me most was how much I changed. I use to be quiet and good tempered. But now I lost my temper a little more, and... I don't know what was happening to me, but I didn't exactly like it. That night, I stared up at the stars. They twinkled happily as if to say, "It's all gonna be alright. Nothing bad will happen." I would have loved to believe them. I would have loved to know that everything was taken care of, and that I could go back to Hetalia camp. But no. It was like life had forbidden me to believe that. I sighed and looked at Jinan. She was facing towards me, her eyes closed. Her breathing was soft and slow, and it calmed me down a little. I put my hand on her shoulder.
Then something scary happened.
Jinan wasn't there. I mean, she was, but she wasn't. She wasn't there. She was mist. I tried touching her face, but it felt like mist. "Jinan? Jinan?" I asked. She was fading. Her eyes were still closed, and I couldn't believe she was sleeping when she was about to die.
"Jinan!" I shouted, sitting up. "Jinan!!! Please!!! WAKE. UP!!!" But she didn't.
She faded away. And caused the biggest worry in my life.

"Now it's my turn to be furious," Vietnam said angrily the next morning. "It was the MIDDLE of the NIGHT, and Jinan's FADED AWAY, and you DIDN'T wake me up, even though you were WORRIED SICK? What were you thinking?"
"I don't know." I replied. "I'm sorry, though. I didn't think you wanted to talk." Vietnam's eyes softened. "Oh, Hong Kong. That will never happen. I'm just worried about Jinan." I nodded. "So am I, but where do we start?"
And then I saw a figure in the woods.
The figure was a girl wearing bright, peach dress. No, it was a faded qipao with gold trim and long, flowing sleeves, and a long white skirt. Her clothes were ripped up, and she had pink flowers in her hair and was crying.
"Taiwan!" I shouted. She looked up, and ran straight towards me and hugged me tightly, patting my head. Embarrassed, I just played with her hair. She was smiling like she had seen nothing better. "Oh, I'm so glad I found you!" She said, letting go of me and hugging Vietnam. "Me, too" Vietnam smiled, hugging Taiwan. As soon as Taiwan let go, Vietnam frowned and said, "Where's Japan?" Right as Taiwan frowned and said, "Where's Jinan?" I sighed.
Taiwan answered us first. "I know this sounds stupid, but he... he sorta faded..."
"Yeah, that happened to us. I mean, to Jinan." We told her everything, and she told us everything. "When I fell back asleep, someone told me to forget it and go to the castle." Taiwan finished. I nodded. "Now we have a place to go, but not a plan. Does anyone have one?"
"We do." A voice said. I turned around.
Korea and Hong Kong we're there. I swear, if we weren't in his danger, Vietnam would have fainted with relief. Instead, she nodded and said, "What is it?"
"Can we first get a hello?" Taipei asked. "That's my favorite part. When you guys rush up to us and say 'Good to see you!"
Taiwan sighed. "Hello. Now what's you're plan?"
"Well," Korea said. "We went to the castle, and we saw a bunch of maids walking in. They were carrying Jinan and Japan into the castle." Taipei nodded, and continued. "We figured if someone dressed like them, they could sneak inside, and save those two." Vietnam nodded excitedly. "What do they look like?" Korea and Taipei grinned. "They were wearing these frilly pink maid outfits. They had thick eyebrows, pink flowers in their jaw length hair, and bright red lipstick. They also looked really, bored." Everyone turned to me. I knew what they were thinking. "We need a maid outfit." I said really quickly. There was no way I was getting dressed up like that. No way.
Taipei grinned at me, then held up a frilly maid costume.
"Korea had brought it to camp by sneaking it into his pocket. He forgot it was there."
Oh, no. I thought. "Take us to the castle." I sighed.

"Ouch! That hurt! Don't shove it on me, I can get it on myself!" I shouted as Korea was shoving the maid costume on me. I had taken of my duangua, and Vietnam was trying to find her lipstick. Taiwan had reluctantly took out the flowers in her hair so that I could wear it in my hair. Korea was shoving the dress on me. And Taipei was video taping the whole thing with his cell phone. "Ouch! You pulled my hair!" I shouted. "Oh, pish. Don't be such a girlie girl and just let me put this dress on you." I could've sworn that he was enjoying this. "I found it!" Vietnam cried, pulling out her lipstick. Just my luck. It was bright red. After Korea finally got the dress on me, and Taiwan had put the flowers in my hair, Taipei, Korea, and Taiwan had to hold me down while Vietnam put the lipstick on me.
"Stop squirming! Oh, Taiwan, keep his head looking straight at me." Taiwan did as she was told, and the lipstick was applied.

I stood up. "Awww..." Taiwan said, putting her hand over her mouth. I could hear a muffled giggle from Vietnam, and Taipei was snapping photos of me dressed like that. I sighed, and said, "Just take us to the little castle, alright?" Korea bowed. "Yes, Miss. Hong Kong. Right away." He held my hand and started leading me down the hill. I jerked my hand back in anger and kicked his foot, hard. That was worth it.

"Oh, wow." Taiwan gasped as we gazed at the castle. "It's huge." It sure was.

It was a brilliant, huge, stone castle with a moat and pine trees and a big wooden door. The door was opened, and going inside were maids wearing flowers in huge pink dresses and flowers in their hair. "Hey! They don't have lipstick!" I shouted, glaring at Taipei and Korea. They shrugged, and I jumped into the line of maids. No seemed to care that I had cut them, and no one seemed to notice that I was a boy. I stared straight ahead, and as the two boys predicted, I was inside.

The inside wasn't as grand as the outside. Inside, it was dull and gray. The long red rug that went down the echoing hall was worn out, and the drawings on the wall was coated with dust. There were at least a thousand doors, lined up on each wall as if they were soldiers in a line. I looked around. all the maids had hurried past me, going down halls and disappearing into rooms. I turned to look down a hall. Someone behind me grabbed one of my shoulders.

"Shouldn't you be getting to work?" A voice barked. I spun around. A man wearing a suit and pink tie was glaring at me. He had brown eyes and slick, gold hair. "Well, um, I'm lost," I replied, looking around. He laughed and grabbed my dress collar. "Silly fool! You are a spy. Now, of you go to the jail room! 45681! Come here." A timid girl with a bonnet and green eyes ran next to him. The girl had dark eyelashes. She was wearing the same maid outfit as me, and her red hair only showed a little under the bonnet. "Yes sir?" She trembled. Her voice was high pitched and squeaky. The man looked at her. "Take this girl to the jail houses."
"But-but sir..."
He glared at her. "Do as I say, 45681." He raised a fist. The girl flinched and nodded. "Yes sir." She bowed, grabbed my sleeve and walked down the hallway.

As soon as the man was out of sight, I whispered to the red head, "Who's he, and what's your name?" The girl gulped. "I'm Annie. That was Sir Browler. Who are you?" The girl looked scared, but she seemed nice. "I'm-I'm.." I didn't know what to say. Who was I? "I'm..." I couldn't finish the sentence. I didn't know wether I should trust her or lie to her. But I needed all the help I could get. I told her everything. Annie was a good listener. She nodded every once in a while. She seemed only a little surprised that I was a boy. When I was done, I asked her for help. She looked away sadly. "I'm so sorry. I've been on the same road to. But you can't escape the Great Master." I was confused. "What do you mean?" Annie looked at me. "I mean..." She took of her pink bonnet, and shook out her hair She pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and wiped her face. The eyelashes weren't as dark. "This." Her voice had dropped an octave. She was a boy. "You're a–" I began, but was interrupted.
"Shhh! Don't say anything! My real name's Andrew. But just call me Annie." His voice stayed low, like he was afraid someone would find him. I was so shocked. "Why are you here?" I asked. He told me everything.

Last year, his best friend, Norman, liked someone. The girl was nice to him, and they became friends. After the Great Master (whom Andrew wouldn't tell me who he was) found out, he kidnapped Norman and the girl, brought them to this castle, and held them prisoner. Andrew was desperate to save them, so he dressed as a maid, applied for a job, and worked for eight months. After that time, he looked in every room, but never found them "The maids told me later," Andrew said, "That they were killed. I couldn't escape." So he was here now.

"Wow." I said. "That's so sad." Andrew shrugged. He put his bonnet on again, and his voice went back to squeaky. "Come on, prisoner. Move it." I was a little surprised at first, but I realized something–he was going to do me a favor. He grabbed my sleeve and ran down the hall, into a room.
The room was small, and had a bunch of sleeping bags. The walls were gray as lint. There were at least thirteen people. "Hi, Annie. Welcome back." A girl with black-brown hair called. Andrew nodded, then said, "I can't find my orange shirt." Suddenly, everyone was scrambling around, moving sleeping bags, standing in front of the doorway, and cleaning things up. I couldn't see what the fuss was all about. "I found it!" A dirty-blond haired girl said. Orange Shirt? What in the name of heaven was he–
Oh.
Oh.
What was under to sleeping bags was a small door. It was hardly visible. One girl tapped on the door once, twice, then knocked on it. The door opened. "What is it?" A voice asked. "New socks." Someone replied
"Is it a blue or red?"  "Blue." Andrew answered. Another question came forward. "Rescued, mission, or endangered?" All the girls looked at me.
"Mission." Andrew claimed.
"Thanks."
"No problem,"
"Does she got pants?" A blond haired girl asked.
"She needs pants." Andrew replied.
"Ok. Send her in."
I had no idea what just happened, but some girls helped me into the door. I didn't need pants. I hoped they weren't going to ask my size.
Once I was inside the room, I saw several faces staring at me. Actually, a LOT of faces. They were all different. Before I could ask who they were, a light brown haired girl asked, "What's your mission?" She asked it in a fast, hushed, voice. So I told her in a fast, hushed, answer. Once we were done, she asked, "You need a name. Your real name's Hong Kong, so we'll call you..."
"Hanna Kate?" A black haired girl suggested.
"Good. Hanna Kate, welcome. We're going to try and get you're sister and your brother back. Alice?"
"Yes?"
"Take H.K. to the Blue's room. She's got pants."
"Got it."
At that moment, remembering this was useless, but H.K. also stood for Hello Kitty. Not that that mattered.
The black haired girl went up to a wall and started pushing some bricks. And a door opened. It led to a medium sized rooms with some people wearing maid costumes. "This is your home for now." The girl said. "I'm Natasha, bye the way. Good Luck." She pushed me into the room and locked the door.
The people looked at me, then smiled.
"Welcome to the blue shirts, Hanna Kate." A boy said. "I mean, Hong Kong.  We're gonna get your family back."

I managed to figure out everything that was going on. If I had "pants", it meant I had a name. Orange shirt meant to open the secret door, "new socks" meant new person, and blue meant boy, while red meant girl.
It was actually simple if you could think hard. The maids were dead serious about this stuff, and had it all planned out. I could here them up late planning this. I was a maid during all the times, mopping floors, serving foods, and every once in a while, serving food to the others. They naturally got used to me, but some were tense around me. I stayed quiet like I used to be. Being a maid was boring and wasn't much of a life. I stayed in the castle for three weeks.

One day, I was sweeping the floor when Andrew ran up to me. "Hanna Kate!" He yelled in his high pitched voice. I looked up, surprised to see him. "Yes?" I asked sweetly. He was panting. "We need to go to our room." I nodded, then followed him back. Maids were staring at us, and Andrew just nodded at them and said, "I forgot my apron." Then they would nod and go back to work.

"Um, Annie?" I asked him softly. The one thing that the maids haven't told me was why I needed to call them by these names. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Wait, I'll tell you." He squeaked, and burst into the room.

"Are you done making my apron?" Andrew asked. A girl with a face dotted with freckles nodded. "We're all done." She looked dead serious, and I couldn't figure out why.
"Do you have the hemming done?" Andrew questioned. He seemed flustered.
"We've got the hemming done, and everything else. We just need Hanna Kate to try it on."
I was used to being called Hanna Kate. It was like a second name for me.
"Good. Bye Hanna Kate. I'll see you again later." Andrew said, pushing me forwards.
"Um, ok, well, see you." I replied uncertainly.
Then, the girl opened the secret door and pushed me in. "Good luck," she whispered into my ear. Then I realized it.
They finished the plan. All I had to do was get Japan and Jinan.

When I was in the room, a girl grabbed my hand. I turned to look at her.
She had smooth red hair and a face splashed with freckles. Her green eyes were dead serious. "Come." she said in a hushed, soft, whisper. "We have little time."
She led me down the long small, hallway and into a circle with several doors. "Where are you taking me?" I asked suddenly. "Hush. I am taking you to save your sister and brother. My name is Connie. I came because I was trying to save my sister. She was killed by starvation." She looked around and found the door she wanted. "Hanna Kate, blue socks." The door opened quietly, and Connie pushed me in. "I wish you luck." She whispered, then the door closed. A new person was with me.

"Come on." He whispered. This boy had spiky black hair and brown eyes. There was this huge, teeny staircase that he started climbing. "Follow me." He said. I did. "My name's Curt. Curt Turner." I was a little surprised. No maid has told me their last name before.  Curt saw my surprise. "I guess you haven't heard a good last name in while, have you?" I shook my head. Curt shrugged. "Me neither." We walked up in silence. "So, how old are your siblings?" Curt asked me. I shrugged.
"My older brother is about twenty two, my other brother is about twenty one, my sister's are twenty and nineteen, my older brother is also nineteen, I'm about eighteen, my little sister is fourteen, and my other little brother is sixteen. Oh, and my sort of sister, Asia, is around twenty." So maybe it wasn't all true, but thats how we looked. China and Japan were at least a few thousand years old, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, and I were a few hundred years old, I was one hundred and four, Taipei was ninety nine, and Jinan was nineteen. But the ages I told him were how we looked, and how we act. Curt half shrugged.
"My sister is thirty two, my brother is fifteen, my sister is five, and my brother was ten." He froze.
"Wait," I asked, confused. "Was?"
He shrugged. "My brother was killed by the guy. Here we are. I wish you good luck."
I couldn't say anything to him because he shoved me to the next room.

Another person led me. except this "person" was a dog. He was a beagle with large, floppy, ears. The beagle was also kind of fat. He looked at me, then ran down this small corridor. I followed on my hands and knees. While I was walking, I wondered why those maids had talked about the things that had hurt them. If it hurt to talk about it, why did they bother? I wouldn't want to talk about it. I kept thinking about it, until it hit me like a meteor hits earth. They wanted to warn me. They wanted to tell me that I might fail. I shrugged of the hurt feelings and followed the fat beagle.

Soon, the beagle had led me to a huge room. A red room, with several chains over a pool of bubbling lava. The chains with people on them were over the lava, and they were Jinan and Japan. Even though they hung them from their necks, and the two people were barely breathing, I wanted to cry with relief. "Hold on." I whispered as I walked up to them. "I'm coming."
"Oh, how sweet. The handsome boy is going for the rescue." I knew that voice. I turned around. It was a large, dark man with slick hair and glowing red eyes. He wore a suit and had a devilish smile. But he was only a shadow.
"You can't hurt me." I said. "You're a shadow." The man laughed a booming laugh.
"Fool. Watch and learn." He spun, and there he was, fully human. I took a step back.
"Back off." I yelled, my voice shaking. There was no hiding my fear. The man came for me.
"Did you know," He mused. "That I knew a boy like you? Yes, he tried to save his girl and his brother, but failed epically. Just like you." I ran to the chains and looked at him.
"I'm not like him. I'll save my friends."
He laughed again. "You fool. My Jinan doesn't want to be saved."
"That's~ Not~true..." I heard a pained whisper. I turned around.
It was Jinan. She had to choke up the words to make them come out.
"I don't... want to stay~ in this... dump. I hate~ this place." She managed to say. I turned to look at her. Her braid had come undone and her long, brown hair was wavy. Her sailor outfit was torn.
The man chuckled. "Is that so, Jinan?" She nodded.
"That is so."
"Well then. I hope you find justice in the underworld. If there is one." He pulled out a gold sword and ran right for Jinan. He was going to cut the chain and watch her die.

"BACK OFF!" I shouted, jumping in front of him and punched him in the nose. He fell on his back and I grabbed the sword. I cut the chains and used a huge net that randomly appeared to catch them. After I let them out, I ran for the small door. "Come on!" I shouted, grabbing Jinan's hand. They didn't need to be told twice. Japan dove in first, then Jinan, then me. We began crawling furiously. The man was right behind us. "Go!" I shouted. The man laughed. "You won't be going anywhere!" He grabbed my ankle, and pulled me back. "Let go of him!" Jinan shouted, grabbed a blue hairbrush from her pocket, and threw it at the man's glowing red eye. "Aaahhh!!!!" He shouted, let go off me, and was dragged back to the room by the beagle.

We made it to the next room, the next one, an finally the last. As soon as we were in the room with all the other maids, I introduced them to my siblings, and explained everything. "He's going to come looking for us." I said.

"No problem. I've got it." Connie replied. "Broomstick, four eight one."

Jinan was grabbing on to me so tight that I thought she would squeeze me to death. Of course, that was reasonable if you're about to be catapulted into a cherry blossom tree. Which, we were. "Don't worry," Curt said, sounding very worried. "You won't die." Japan nodded. "It sounds reasonable enough. Why are we waiting?"
"We need a sign." A black haired maid answered. Her name was Julia.
"We are?" Asked a boy maid. (His name was Fangs)
"Yes." Curt said. "We are waiting for a flash of red."
Japan frowned. "I believe we should just catapult. What if that man finds us?" I shrugged. "I can wait." I wasn't too anxious to be catapulted into the cherry blossom tree that was at least fifty feet away. Suddenly, a flash of red shot across the sky.
And Jinan and I were catapulted to the tree.

My first priority was not to get killed. My second was to not let go of Jinan. My third–well, I didn't make one but at the time, but it became screaming my lungs out.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" I screamed as we were flying through the air. I wish we didn't scream so loud, because the man heard us, and so did his guards. And we didn't make it all the way to the tree. "Attack!" I heard the man shout as Jinan and I ran around, trying to avoid huge arrows and swords thrown at us. I kept holding on to Jinan's hand. There was no way I would let go of her and lose her again.

"Ouch!" Jinan shouted, and let go of my hand. She had fell and was gripping on to her ankle. I turned around, looked once at the ankle, got up, and carried her. Jinan was a good person to carry when you're in danger, because she's light, doesn't tell you to hurry up, and warns you very quickly if somethings going to happen.

After ten feet, Jinan said, "I can run now." I put her down and we began running again. "You know what?" Jinan puffed as we ran through the woods.
"What?"
"I'm glad you're here."
"Thank you. I'm glad you're–" An arrow had hit my back.
I fell over. "Hong Kong!" Jinan shouted, pulling the arrow out of my back. "Are you OK?" She looked nervous. I could feel blood going down my back.
"Hold still, let me clean this out." Jinan said, taking out a handkerchief and wiping the blood of my back. I screamed in pain. Jinan jerked back. "Ok, you're not OK." The stupid man came out of nowhere and started laughing.
"Of course he's not. We hit him with a poison arrow. You had you're chance to be my girl, sweetie. But you didn't accept it. Now you are surrounded. You will die."
My eyes were closing. "Jinan." I croaked. "Smile." She looked at me, and smiled. Then, she put her chin to her chest, and waited for the arrows to come and kill her.
They never did.
I don't know every detail, but the last thing I remember solidly were five people jumping out and attacking them.
Those people were my siblings.

"Look! He's waking up!" I heard Taipei shout as I opened my eyes.
Eight pairs of eyes watched me as I slowly sat up in my bed. Those eyes were China, Asia, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Taipei, and Jinan. "Good Morning," Vietnam's sweet voice said. "Did you sleep well?" I nodded. "I had this crazy dream about–" Then I saw Jinan. She smiled at me, and her hair wasn't in a braid. It had tumbled around her shoulders, and she had a cut on her face. Asia was tying her hair. "So... I wasn't dreaming?" I asked, looking around. I already knew the answer, so no one answered me. Instead, Taipei started dancing around with two full cups of iced tea. He always did that when he was happy. Korea joined him, and Taiwan handed me a wrapped gift. "Happy Birthday." She whispered. I opened it up. It was a stuffed panda. "Thank you." I said. She nodded, then joined Japan. Jinan sat down on my bed. Her hair was a ponytail around her shoulder. We didn't say anything at first. Finally, she said, "I'm glad you're OK. You scared me." I nodded. "I know. I'm glad You're alive. So what happened?" She shrugged.
"Before you passed out, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Taipei, and Vietnam jumped out and attacked the soldiers. After that, Korea dragged the man to a deep lake and threw him in. He had shoved heavy rocks in the man's pocket so he would sink down. The man drowned, and the maids were free." I nodded. "Go on."
"So then, we took you to China and Asia, and China healed you pretty quickly. So here you are now. One question. Why'd you make me smile?"
I looked at her. "Because I wanted to see you smile"
I nodded. She said, "You're one of the bravest people I ever met." I shrugged. "You're the nicest." She narrowed her eyes. "You're the cleverest." I narrowed my eyes back at her. "You're the smartest."
"You're the most annoying."
She shrugged, tilted her head, then smiled. Her smile was a lot sweeter then that man's smile. "Want to go do something?" Jinan asked. I nodded. "Let's take a walk." I got up, stretched, took her hand, and walked out the door. As soon as we were outside, I did something I haven't done in a while.

I smiled, then hugged her. It was worth it.
